Russia and the United States will discuss virus attacks

Russia and the United States will discuss virus attacks at a joint meeting. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the statement of the White House.

The countries will hold consultations next week.

The recent cyber attacks on the international software manufacturer Kaseya may also be on the agenda. It is noted that about 200 firms suffered from the actions of the hacker group. Presumably, the data of the organizations were temporarily blocked. The extortionists demanded a ransom of 45 thousand dollars.

After such incidents, there are often accusations against Russia, which it denies. Although the White House also doubts Moscow’s involvement, on July 1, the US National Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Agency, together with the UK’s National Cyber Security Center, accused the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of cyber attacks on public and private structures around the world.

Russia recalled that the fight against cybercrime is its priority and an integral part of its state policy to counteract all forms of crime.
